City of Joliet Invites Residents to Free Tree Walk at Route 66 Park

The City of Joliet’s Tree Advisory Board invites residents to learn more about the benefits of a healthy urban forest during a free Tree Walk on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Route 66 Park (920 N. Broadway Street).

The guided walk will provide homeowners and nature enthusiasts with practical information on selecting, planting, watering, and caring for trees. Participants will also learn how to identify a variety of tree species found throughout the park and discover which trees are best suited for residential properties. Educational materials will be available for attendees.
