The Aurora Fire Department early Thursday morning put out a major fire at a vacant Aurora Housing Authority apartment building in the 1600 block of Northeast Drive on the city’s east side.
Firefighters arrived just before 1 a.m. to find flames breaking through the roof of the building. Crews were able to search the eastern units, but were unable to search the western units due to floor and roof failures.
The fire department did not report any injuries. The cause is under investigation…
