A 29-year-old man died early Friday morning after a Jeep utility vehicle slammed into the Honda coupe he was riding in at the intersection of North Eola Road and McCoy Drive in Aurora. Both drivers were rushed to area hospitals and remain in stable condition, while the young passenger did not survive.
According to WGN-TV, the crash happened around 5 a.m. Friday when a blue Jeep utility vehicle collided with a blue Honda coupe that was traveling eastbound on McCoy Drive and entering the intersection with North Eola Road. The Jeep struck the Honda, and everyone in both vehicles suffered serious injuries. The 29-year-old man, a passenger in the Honda, was taken to an area hospital where he later died. Aurora authorities have not released his identity.
The man’s identity has not been released. Neither driver showed signs of impairment, the outlet noted, though the crash remains under investigation and the circumstances that put the two vehicles on a collision course have not been detailed publicly.
