Nurses at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Joliet are hosting a Press Conference this morning – on Monday, May 4th – to “sound the alarm about Prime Healthcare.”
The registered nurses at St. Joseph’s Medical Center warn that the future of the hospital is in danger under Prime Healthcare—a for-profit company with a history of closing unprofitable units and leaving communities without health care. They are demanding accountability and answers for why the company has repeatedly cut services and implemented unsafe staffing changes since acquiring St. Joseph’s in March of 2025.
