AURORA, Ill. (WTVO) — Fifteen years after 6-year-old Timmothy Pitzen vanished, the case remains one of the most enduring mysteries in Illinois, with critical ties to Rockford, where the trail abruptly ended and questions remain.

Timmothy James Pitzen was born Oct. 18, 2004, in Aurora, to James Pitzen and Amy Fry-Pitzen. He was enrolled in kindergarten at Greenman Elementary School when his disappearance unfolded in May 2011.
