FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. (WFLA) — Eight people, including two children, were rescued Friday after their boat capsized near a Florida beach.
The U.S. Coast Guard Station in Fort Myers Beach said its crew responded to a vessel capsizing.
“Thanks to the rapid response, professionalism, and teamwork of everyone involved, every person was safely recovered from the water,” the Coast Guard said. “Moments like these are a reminder of why we train relentlessly and stand ready 24/7. When seconds matter, preparation, communication, and teamwork make all the difference.”
