Despite the quiet time of year, the lagoon beach being submerged with high tide water, and the park already cleaned by the county after July 4, a group of 18 families and friends together collected 46 pounds of trash and recyclables at the July 11 quarterly Tigertail Beach cleanup hosted by Friends of Tigertail.
Six appreciation certificates were awarded to students for their volunteer hours and everyone enjoyed themselves while working to keep Tigertail Beach park pristine.
The next clean-up is scheduled for Sept. 19, part of the International Coastal Cleanup in association with Collier County, Keep Collier Beautiful and the Ocean Conservancy. At this event, collected debris is tabulated to assess the health of beaches and rivers worldwide…
