Four great hammerhead sharks washed up dead on Florida beaches this spring, raising concerns about whether humans contributed to the demise of the majestic predators, and if so, what can be done about it.

The hammerheads were found lolling in frothy shore breaks and wrack lines in Hobe Sound, Juno Beach, Venice, and Naples between March 15 and April 19.
