18-year-old charged with vehicular homicide after multi-vehicle Nashville crash

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — An 18-year-old was charged with vehicular homicide by intoxication after a fatal multi-vehicle crash Monday night on I-24 West.

Zachary Abbott, 18, is charged with vehicular homicide and ten counts of reckless endangerment after a multi-vehicle crash near Old Hickory Boulevard claimed the life of his front seat passenger, Talon Sewell, 18.

An investigation indicates that Abbott was driving westbound on I-24 when he changed lanes to pass traffic but was not able to. He drove onto the right shoulder and collided with an abandoned flatbed tow truck. The passenger side of Abbott’s car hit the rear of the parked truck and collided with the rear passenger side of a Jeep at the same time…
