Man who shot himself during a search warrant has been identified

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — A man who shot himself Tuesday morning has been identified through fingerprints.

Officers executed a search warrant at a Tampa Drive apartment and found 29-year-old Brandon Surji, also known as Brandon Hunter.

Officers forced their way to the apartment at 5:30 a.m. after receiving no response despite repeatedly announcing their presence over a loudspeaker. They found Surji armed with a gun inside a bedroom closet. Police said he refused to drop the gun…
