Police officers attacked by dog, suspect during arrest in Nashville, affidavit says

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Police say a suspect and his dog attacked officers during an arrest over the weekend in Nashville.

Officers were in an area of Lafayette Street “known… for high volume narcotics use and narcotics distribution” at about 1 a.m. Sunday when they spotted the suspect, 26-year-old Lamont Avery, walking near the Greyhound Bus Station.

“Officers observed that he walked dragging his left leg, clutching his waistband, and there was a visible imprint of what appeared to be a firearm in his pants,” an affidavit says…
