Middle Tennessee drought improving; new map drops tomorrow

Middle Tennessee’s drought is finally starting to ease up.

The U.S. Drought Monitor map released May 5 showed all of Middle Tennessee in either severe or extreme drought. Two weeks later, much of the extreme drought has been removed and a lot of the region is now only in moderate drought.

Below normal rainfall amounts each month since the start of the year got the area into this situation. March was especially dry this year.
