Middle Tennessee police departments say technology is helping the staffing shortage

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — As police departments across the country continue to face recruiting and staffing challenges, some agencies in Middle Tennessee say technology is helping officers work more efficiently and make the most of existing resources.

The trend comes as departments increasingly invest in tools such as drones, license plate readers, public safety cameras and real-time crime centers to assist officers in the field and support investigations.
