NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The mother of an 8-year-old girl struck by a bullet fragment during Fourth of July celebrations downtown is speaking out, urging the community to find other ways to celebrate after her daughter was rushed to the hospital that night.
Perri Orman said her family had planned what was supposed to be a milestone evening — her children’s first concert and a fireworks show. They never saw the fireworks.
A last-minute plan turns into a nightmare
Orman said the family decided to attend the city’s Fourth of July celebration the morning of July 4, arriving around 4:30 p.m. They watched the All-American Rejects perform on the main stage off Broadway before the crowd grew too dense to navigate.
