A strong late-night storm threat for Middle Tennessee before more extreme heat, humidity set in

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A few strong to severe thunderstorms are possible overnight in Middle Tennessee.

Hot and humid weather will continue this evening. A batch of late showers and thunderstorms will approach from the north. Damaging wind gusts and localized flooding will be possible. The most likely zone to get these storms is south-central Kentucky. Some areas will remain dry.

Extreme heat and humidity will develop again on Tuesday. Take all heat precautions. The hottest weather of the week is expected. Low, 78. High, 98. The heat index will top out at 109 degrees in Nashville.
