Hendersonville man charged with strangling girlfriend

A response to a reported domestic incident led to the arrest of a Hendersonville man who police say tried to strangle his girlfriend during an argument.

According to court records, Hendersonville police responded on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2026, at around 4:30 a.m. to a Jamestown Place residence. Dispatch reportedly advised officers that the caller said her boyfriend had a gun and had threatened to kill her and shoot up the residence.

After arriving, police took Jon’terio Z. Horton, 25, into custody without incident. After asking him what occurred, Horton allegedly stated that he had overheard his girlfriend talking with another man on the phone in a manner that led him to believe she was cheating on him.
