There was never any debate about the gruesomeness of Christa Pike’s crime. In 1995, along with her boyfriend, Pike, then 18, tortured and killed 19-year-old Colleen Slemmer. As revealed in court records and reported by my colleague Keith Sharon, Slemmer was barely conscious when Pike asked her, “Colleen, do you know who’s doing this to you?”
