NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A mother is suing a Hermitage hospital after giving birth to her child, claiming surgical material was left inside of her during a C-section.
According to a lawsuit filed in Davidson County, a woman went into TriStar Summit Medical Center to deliver her baby on May 15. That mother, as well as the father, are now suing, alleging a surgical sponge used during delivery was left inside the woman.

As a result, the mother suffered from “postpartum complications,” including a bacterial infection, per the lawsuit.
Now, the parents are asking for at least $500,000 in compensatory damages from TriStar, in addition to further compensation determined by a jury in this case…
