‘Most Wanted’ arrest: Teen accused of raping girl at Nashville NYE party

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — One of Nashville’s “Most Wanted” fugitives turned himself in to authorities over the weekend after being accused of raping a teenage girl.

Mateus Alves, 18, was listed among the Metro Nashville Police Department’s “Top 10 Most Wanted” fugitives on April 24. According to police, Alves had an outstanding warrant for one count of rape stemming from an incident that happened on Dec. 31, 2023.

The girl told investigators she had gone to a New Years Eve party at a home in Davidson County that evening and her ex-boyfriend, Alves, reportedly showed up to the same party.

In an arrest affidavit, officials noted that the girl and Alves had stopped dating several weeks beforehand. While at the party, the girl said Alves was being “physically abusive toward her.”

They eventually went upstairs to talk after “getting interrupted” multiple times. Despite repeatedly telling him no, the victim said Alves sexually assaulted her while they were upstairs, at one point telling her, “I will do it whether you want to or not.”
