LA VERGNE, Tenn. (WKRN) — La Vergne law enforcement said they took a “dangerous driver” off the road following an attempted traffic stop last week.
According to the La Vergne Police Department’s Facebook post from Sunday, April 27, someone contacted dispatch a few days earlier to report a suspected drunk driver. Thanks to the detailed descriptions and continuous updates, officers quickly tracked down the vehicle.

When authorities tried to perform a traffic stop at Murfreesboro Road and Floyd Mayfield Drive, they said the driver refused to comply and continued for almost a mile before stopping. Law enforcement safely removed the driver from the vehicle and conducted a thorough investigation.
Officials said the individual was charged with felony driving under the influence (fourth offense), driving on a suspended license (second offense), and felony evading, adding that his “blatant disregard for the law and the safety of others could have had devastating consequences.”
