Arkansan to be inducted into Country Radio Hall of Fame

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Phil Hunt, a veteran country radio programmer with more than five decades in the industry, will be inducted into the Country Radio Hall of Fame on Aug. 3 at the Virgin Hotel in Nashville.

The Country Radio Hall of Fame recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the radio industry over at least 20 years, with a minimum of 15 years in the country format.

Hunt’s career began in the early 1970’s as a teenage disc jockey in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. He went on to work at and help shape numerous radio stations across the country, including KSSN 96 in Little Rock, where colleagues say he played a key role in building the station into a nationally recognized brand…
