Tennessee bans retail sale of nitrous oxide following WSMV4 investigation

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Governor Bill Lee signed a bill into law this week that bans the sale of nitrous oxide in retail shops, including vape shops.

Taking effect July 1, selling nitrous oxide in stores will be a Class E felony with penalties ranging from $2,500 for a first offense to $5,000 for repeat offenses. Businesses could also have their license revoked for repeat violations.

The law does not affect doctors and dentists who use nitrous oxide for medical purposes…
