A violent collision between a car and a motorcycle on West End Avenue at 27th Avenue on Sunday evening left two people injured and shut down a key stretch of Midtown while first responders swarmed the scene. The motorcyclist was thrown from the bike and landed several feet down the roadway, and both the rider and the car’s driver were rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Police sealed off the area as investigators documented the scene and tow trucks cleared the wreckage.
Injuries and hospital update
Metro Nashville Police officers at the scene told WSMV the crash involved a car and a motorcycle, and that the rider was ejected several feet from the bike before being taken to Vanderbilt. Doctors treating the rider at Vanderbilt told police there is a “high probability the cyclist will die within the next 30 days,” the outlet reports.
