Smith County Motorcyclist Killed After Crash

A Smith County motorcyclist has died at a Nashville hospital after being airlifted from a crash scene on Monday afternoon, turning an otherwise routine weekday on a rural road into a fatal emergency.

The collision between the motorcycle and a car happened on Club Springs Road, prompting a rapid multi-agency response. Crews moved the injured rider to a nearby boat ramp in Stonewall, where firefighters set up a helicopter landing zone. The rider was flown to TriStar Skyline Medical Center in Nashville for treatment and later died at the hospital. The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

The Smith County Rescue Squad said crews were dispatched to Club Springs Road at about 1:30 p.m. and found the motorcycle operator needing immediate medical attention.
