WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — Multiple Middle Tennessee schools were placed on lockdown Monday due to false threats, also known as swatting.
Swatting calls across the U.S. are up over 500% from 2019 to 2023, according to the Educator’s School Safety Network. Authorities said these fake calls are designed to spark fear and force law enforcement to respond quickly.
