LaPlace woman convicted of over $730,000 in Covid-19 relief fraud

LAPLACE, La. (WGNO) — A Laplace woman pled guilty on May 19 to over $730,000 in Covid-19 relief fraud.

According to the Eastern District of Louisiana, 41-year-old Tiffany Carter of LaPlace made false statements and representations to the Small Business Administration, resulting in her obtaining fraudulent Paycheck Protection Program and Economic Injury Disaster loans totaling $731,972.
