New Orleans overdose deaths down, according to Health Department opioid report

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — In 2025, New Orleans saw a total of 282 people die due to accidental drug overdose.

Of these deaths, 69% tested positive for Fentanyl, 65% tested positive for cocaine and 42% tested positive for both.
