Marrero Outback Steakhouse shooting suspect extradited to Jefferson Parish on attempted murder count

The Outback Steakhouse employee accused of shooting his co-worker during an argument at the Marrero restaurant has been extradited from Texas to face a count of attempted second-degree murder.

Jeffrey Williams, 40, of Marrero, was also booked Tuesday with obstruction of justice, according to jail records.

Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office investigators say Williams and the 49-year-old victim worked together at the Outback located in the 1600 block of Barataria Boulevard.

Another restaurant employee told investigators that Williams seemed to take offense to a song that the victim was singing out loud while working in the kitchen, according to authorities. The Sheriff’s Office didn’t say what song provoked Williams’ ire, but the two exchanged words…
