New Orleans police: suspects stole $58,000 in cryptocurrency using victim’s phone

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department announced two suspects in a cryptocurrency theft investigation. The case is the latest one to roll on the Wheel of Justice.

According to police, the crime happened on March 14 in the 900 block of Poeyfarre Street in the Warehouse District. Police say the suspects used the victim’s phone to transfer the funds without his permission.

NOPD: Suspect made $500 in purchases after car burglary

The first suspect is 55-year-old Mia Mayoba Robinson. She’s booked with theft over $25,000, illegal transmission of monetary funds and computer fraud. Those records also show her bond was set at $3,000 and she was required to sign a stay away order for Bourbon Street and the French Quarter as a condition of her release.

The second suspect is identified as 43-year-old Narvin Anthony Lassai. At last word, he remained on the loose and will be booked with theft under $25,000…
