JEFFERSON PARISH, La. — Prosecutors in Jefferson Parish have formally charged two Romanian nationals accused of operating a credit card skimming scheme that targeted multiple stores across the area earlier this year.
According to authorities, the suspects allegedly installed skimming devices on payment terminals in an effort to steal financial information from customers, particularly those using Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards.
The investigation involves both local and federal law enforcement agencies and spans multiple states.
