NEW ORLEANS, La. — A bicyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash early Thursday morning on one of New Orleans’ most recognizable thoroughfares, prompting an active investigation as authorities search for the driver responsible.
The fatal collision occurred at the intersection of St. Charles Avenue and Robert Street in the Uptown area of the city, where emergency responders rushed to aid the injured cyclist before the victim later died at a local hospital.
Police have not yet released the identity of the victim as officials work to notify family members.
