I read that my favorite grocery store, Dorignac’s, was named one of the “most legendary grocery stores in the South” by Southern Living. The story mentioned its original location in the Lower Garden District. Where was it and when did they open in Metairie?
Dorignac’s Food Center has been a Metairie landmark since the 1960s and is one of the largest-grossing grocers per square foot in the nation. In its February article, Southern Living singled out the popular store for its bakery, deli and local products as well as its “old-school customer service.”
