New Orleans rap history is moving from the Verzuz stage to arenas across the country. The Cash Money tour with No Limit Records is set to hit 17 cities this fall, pairing Birdman, Juvenile, Mannie Fresh and B.G. with Master P, Silkk The Shocker, Mia X, Mac, Fiend, Choppa Style, Mr. Serv-On, Mercedes and special guest Boosie, according to the tour announcement.

The moment is bigger than nostalgia. This feels like the business model coming back to collect applause. Cash Money, founded by brothers Ronald “Slim” Williams andBryan “Birdman” Williams, built one of rap’s most recognizable independent-to-major label pipelines out of New Orleans. No Limit, led by Master P, became a blueprint for ownership, fast output, branding and street-level marketing, with P’s Priority deal long remembered as a power move that kept ownership central to the label’s story.
