Man convicted of making bomb threat to New Orleans International Airport

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — An Alexandria man pled guilty on June 9 to willfully calling in a bomb threat to the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport.

According to the Eastern District of Louisiana, on Nov. 7, 2025, 36-year-old Corey Johnson was involved in a dispute with airport personnel over parking fees while attempting to exit the airport parking lot. The dispute escalated to the point that Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies had to respond and address the situation.

After leaving the area visibly upset, Johnson twice called AVCOM, the airport’s operations center, claiming there was a bomb in the airport and threatening to harm the operator. Investigators with the JPSO and the FBI connected these calls to the earlier parking dispute and arrested Johnson. Eastern District officials said Johnson admitted to making the calls…
