At Capacity: Inside New Orleans’s unhoused population

Efforts to house, help and relocate the unhoused population in New Orleans have been top of mind at both the local and state levels over the last few years.

Following sweeps ahead of the 2025 Super Bowl, encampment closures earlier this year, and legislation outlawing sleeping on public property, WDSU looked into what it’s like for those experiencing homelessness and what resources are actually available.
