New Orleans’ west bank placed under boil water advisory after pressure drops Saturday

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – The entire west bank of New Orleans was placed under a boil water advisory early Saturday (July 25) after maintenance work caused an unsafe drop in water pressure, the Sewerage and Water Board announced.

On one of the hottest weekends so far this year, the utility announced the water disruption at 7:02 a.m.

The SWBNO said crews were performing maintenance work on a water tower at the Algiers water plant, when pressure fell below the recommended safe guideline of 20 pounds per square inch…
