NEW ORLEANS (NEWS 15) — An Acadiana principal who led a struggling school to become the highest-performing middle school in her parish was named the 2027 Louisiana Principal of the Year at a statewide gala in New Orleans.
The Louisiana Department of Education, in partnership with Dream Teachers, presented the honor to Lauren Williams Rentrop, principal of Patterson Jr. High in St. Mary Parish, at the 20th Annual Cecil J. Picard Educator Excellence Awards Gala at The National WWII Museum on Saturday.
