Neighbors concerned about 6-foot-deep hole on Amelia Street left by Sewerage and Water Board

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – The New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board dug a hole on Amelia Street, stretching approximately 10 feet wide and 6 feet deep. But more than a year later, the agency says it won’t fill it in until a nearby homeowner takes action on their property.

In the 2700 block of Amelia Street, neighbors say a serious danger lurks under some wooden boards.

“It’s gradually filled with water, it smells horrible,” Charles Conti stated…
