A Jefferson Parish grand jury on Thursday handed up an indictment charging five people in connection with the death and dismemberment of a man whose severed head and hands were discovered buried in the backyard of a Marrero home in April, almost three years after he disappeared without a trace.
Authorities allege the suspects charged either killed 37-year-old Eddie Tillman Jr., took part in the effort to conceal the father of four’s death or were aware of his demise and did nothing to report the matter to law enforcement.
Dustin Billot, 33, and Jessica Parks, 37, both of Westwego, and Terrence Johnson, 45, of Harvey, were charged with second-degree murder. Billot and another defendant, John Lopez, 46, of Marrero, were charged with the unlawful disposal of Tillman’s remains. And Billot, Parks, Lopez and Billot’s sister, Christina Beasley, 46, of Westwego, were charged with obstruction of justice.
All five pleaded not guilty on Monday…
