NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – By 1988, Dolly Parton was already one of America’s biggest entertainers when she brought her star power to New Orleans for Mardi Gras, a visit she later shared with viewers across the country.
Parton, who died at 80, was among the celebrity guests who rolled through New Orleans with the Krewe of Endymion during Mardi Gras in 1988.
On Feb. 13, 1988, Parton joined an Endymion celebration that also included Smokey Robinson and actress Heather Locklear. The parade featured 38 floats and carried the theme “New Orleans, This Is Your Life.”…
