One area in the tropical Atlantic with questionable formation chances

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – At one point we had three areas of interest in the tropical Atlantic and now we’re down to only one with rather questionable chances of possible formation.

According to the National Hurricane Center, there’s “an area of low pressure, associated with a tropical wave located several hundred miles west-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands” adding that the “showers and thunderstorms associated with this system have slightly improved in organization over the last several hours,” but recent satellite wind data is saying that circulation is “not yet well-defined.”

Environmental conditions are said to be “somewhat favorable for development” in the coming few days with the chance to see a tropical depression form as this system moves westward to west-northwestward up to 20-mph through the eastern and central tropical Atlantic…
