A new miniature train is pulling into the station at Audubon Zoo, with a different name and upgraded look, nearly 130 years after the first mini train tracks were laid at Audubon Park.
What was the Swamp Train is now the Audubon Wonders of Nature Express, and no tracks are needed for it to chug around the 54-acre campus in Uptown thanks to rubber wheels — like a very long, deluxe golf cart.
Passengers will still find covered seats and open-sided cars along with a narrated ride with fun facts to accompany scenic views. It holds up to 45 people and is wheelchair-accessible…
