New Orleans police arrest woman in connection with 2022 fatal crash

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A woman was arrested in connection with a 2022 fatal crash investigation on Tuesday, Sept. 1.

According to the New Orleans Police Department, officers were working in the 2600 block of Sage Street in response to community complaints about multiple vehicles traveling the wrong way.

NOPD officials said during the operation, officers stopped a vehicle for traveling the wrong way and allege that the driver provided a false identity. Officers identified the woman as 26-year-old Destiny Goodman. Officials said Goodman had several arrest warrants on charges that included domestic battery and domestic criminal damage, as well as probation/parole violation.

NOPD officials said officer Corey Campbell recalled that someone with a similar name had been identified as a person of interest in an April 2022 traffic fatality investigation. Officials said Campbell contacted the NOPD Traffic Fatality Unit investigator Richard Chambers, who confirmed Goodman was the person investigators had been seeking in the case…
