After an extended water leak forced crews to hollow out the front yard of a home in Lake Terrace and chop down a 75-year-old oak tree, residents and city officials are decrying what they allege were delays and miscommunications from the New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board.
Maria Stokes, daughter of the 88-year-old woman who lives at the home located in the 1400 block of Killdeer St., said she and her family are worried about the house’s future after the leak, first reported on Aug. 19, was allegedly not properly addressed.
