SLIDELL, La. ( WGNO ) — An anonymous tip led to a drug bust and arrests in Slidell on Tuesday, Jan. 30.
Investigators with the St. Tammany Parish Narcotics Division said they received an anonymous tip via the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office website. The tip alleged that 28-year-old Dequoin Hughes was distributing fentanyl pills, marijuana and guns from his home on North 9th St. in the Alton community.

During the search, detectives said Hughes’ mother, 47-year-old Maketria Hughes, and his grandmother, 68-year-old Carol Hughes, arrived on the scene to force their way into the home, resulting in altercations with detectives.
Following a search of the home, detectives found a combined total of 40.9 grams of suspected fentanyl powder and fentanyl pills, 27 grams of marijuana, two dosage units of hydrocodone, a Glock semi-automatic handgun, a bottle of promethazine, various drug paraphernalia and $3,739.
