Gretna Fest traditionally offers a weekend of star-studded performances, dozens of food vendors, and the chance to shop small from local artisans. This year, however, the usual three-day fête will be split into a concert series held over several Friday nights in October.
The reason, organizers say, is to accommodate a major transformation of the Gretna Marketplace.
“The Gretna Marketplace is truly the heart of our downtown,” Gretna Mayor Belinda Constant said in a press release sent on Monday. “The upgrades we are making will allow us to preserve everything people love about this space while building something even better for the future.”…
