Little Freddie King made a triumphant return to the Blues Tent following a tumultuous year for the living legend.
The 85-year-old Mississippi native and longtime New Orleanian has been on a hiatus from performing, following an accident that left him unable to walk. At his much-anticipated Jazz Fest set, there was hardly an empty seat in the Blues Tent for his impressive 45-minute time slot.
Aptly, his wheelchair was repurposed as a gold and purple throne. The King was beaming throughout the show, clearly thrilled to be back on stage and dressed impeccably — as usual — in a snazzy gold jacket, yellow pants and leopard print loafers for the occasion…
