Warm weather, spicy food fuel Jazz Fest beer sales

After the first four days of Jazz Fest, the beer stands, and the non-profits that benefit from them, seem to be in the green.”Business has been great,” said Jeff Lionnet, who sells beer at Jazz Fest on behalf of St. Catherine Sienna Men’s Club.”We’ve been out here for 20-something years, we do it every year,” he saidl “It’s all volunteers that work behind here and all the money goes back to the school and the men’s club.”Lionnet says sunny and warm weather did a great job of bringing people to their tent to cool down, or maybe douse some of the spicier food offerings.

Some vendors reported a more than 30% increase in sales on just the first day of the festival.Jazz Fest’s final four days kick off Thursday…
