New Orleans police investigate multiple reported bomb threats

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department investigated multiple reported bomb threats Saturday, May 9 and Sunday May 10.

According to the NOPD, the first incident occurred around 11:20 a.m. Saturday at a business on Dante Street and Maple Street. An unknown male made bomb threats towards the business. An officer responded to the location, but no incident or suspect was located.

Around 11:35 a.m. Saturday, a man entered a bank on Canal Street and demanded the bank teller turn over money, or he would blow up the bank. He allegedly mentioned he had a bomb. The teller complied and gave the man money. The man then fled in an unknown direction.

On Sunday around 1:00 a.m., an unknown male called the 8th District Station and threatened to place multiple bombs on Bourbon Street without providing any further information…
