Teen with 49 ankle-monitor violations led Uber carjacking crew before SWAT arrest, authorities say

A teen whose ankle-monitor violations went unchecked for months led an armed Uber carjacking crew before a Desire-area SWAT standoff ended in his arrest Wednesday afternoon, authorities say.

Ja’Maarion Banks, 19, and three juveniles, ages 16, 14 and 14, were booked on multiple counts of armed robbery, the New Orleans Police Department confirmed Thursday.
